When measuring for installation, take the measurement from D-ring to D-ring and leave 1.5 - 2 feet of space for the hardware kit between the shade sail's D-ring and mounting points. For rectangles, the dimensions a and b should be approximately 88% of the length and width of the installation area. Shade&Beyond recommends using their accessories kit to prevent sagging after installation (Accessories kit not included).
